Frey Andreas - CV

Andreas Frey I got to know personally for the first time at Fibo in 2006.
He was no stranger to me, I have often admired his photos in magazines. What I didn't know was that he was gifted with super genetic prerequisites for bodybuilding.
He is not only a bodybuilder through body and soul, but also a personable guy who knows a lot about training and nutrition. When I read the results of "Night of Champions", where he got 2nd place, and later 3rd place in "British NOC", I knew that he would use his genetic potential.
Goot Luck Andreas.

Andreas Frey was born on October 20th, 1979 in Temeschburg / Romania.
He and his family moved to Germany when he was 6 years old.
At school, as one of the greatest, he tried different sports.
He was a handball player, basketball player, swimmer, tennis player and track and field athlete, but no sport motivated him for a long time.
At the age of 9, his father motivated him to start fitness training with statements such as "... you have good genetics ..." or "... you are naturally suitable for strength training ...".
Unfortunately, this time too, the fighting spirit did not last long. But he didn't stop exercising for good, he continued his training at home.
At 15, Andreas Frey was ready for a second attempt, this time with the support of his brother Edmund, who recognized the good prerequisites for weight training.
And he should be right, after just six months of intensive training, Andreas Frey was 15 years old on the stage in Oberhausen at the NRW youth championships in 1995.
This was followed by further competitions and the first successes. At the age of 19, Andreas passed his Abitur and studied business education.
In his many competitions, he likes the feeling of standing in front of the audience and the competition atmosphere.

Frey Andreas – Interview

- Please tell us what is your training and diet like at the moment!
Andreas Frey:
I am currently in the development phase. Weight is around 140kg (target should be 145kg).
My diet currently looks like this (per day):
– 650g Protein
- 650g KH
- 80g Fat
Calories: about 6000kcal
I eat according to the pendulum diet, i.e. more or less calories every day, depending on whether I train or not.

- In 2006 you competed very successfully in two professional competitions. What is the atmosphere like with the professionals, are there big differences compared to the amateurs?
Andreas Frey:
The atmosphere is the same as with the amateurs, very friendly and everything is very relaxed, as is generally known from competitive bodybuilding.

- At NOC the result was very controversial, what do you think of the victory of Lee Priest?
Andreas Frey:
Lee is a cool and nice guy at the same time, if a little freaky. He was in good, if not his best, shape. I think the decision could have turned out differently, but it's O.K. for me, especially since this was my first professional competition. I also think Lee was able to benefit a little from his reputation in the States.

- How has your life changed as a professional?
Andreas Frey:
Actually not at all, since I also practiced BB very professionally before that.

- What is your daily routine like?
Andreas Frey:
Since I'm still studying, I can allow myself to attach particular importance to recovery, which of course benefits me in terms of bodybuilding.
In the morning I get up at 8:00 a.m., have my Andreas standard breakfast (1500kcal !!!) and then I dedicate myself to the shop work, then it's time to do business.
The shop is now running so well that I often don't have the time to train, then, as an exception, I train in the late evening around 10 p.m.
In any case, I never skip a training session when it's on the schedule.
After training I then take the PWN (with Whey Protein, Malto 95, Anabolic BCAA, L-Glutamine Pur and CreaPure or CREATIN X6) and at noon it is bedtime.

- What are your plans for 2007?
Andreas Frey:
First of all, there is a guest appearance in Colmar, at the “Top de Colmar”, then comes FIBO, where I will be present on all four days.
Then in May another guest appearance in Crete, a week later in Athens and in the same month at the French championship.
After that I will again take part in the NOC in New York (at the end of September) and take part in the Grand Prix's in Europe that follow.

- You sell FREY Nutrition products on your website, are you involved in the development of the products? Which products would you particularly recommend to our readers? (For beginners and in competition preparation).
Andreas Frey:
I am the managing director and owner of FREY Nutrition.
I have worked on all the products and only high-quality products are offered that I have in my nutrition plan myself and of which I am 100% convinced.
As a FREY Nutrition customer, there is also free advice on how to best take the supps and in combination to achieve maximum success.

For beginners I recommend:
- Protein 90 as the standard protein distributed throughout the day and especially before bed
- Whey Protein, Malto 95 and Amino Tabs directly after training as PWN
That should be enough for the beginning and should provide a few pounds of muscle mass!

For advanced users I recommend:
- Protein 90 as the standard protein distributed throughout the day and especially before bed
- Whey Protein, Malto 95, L-Glutamin Pur, Anabolic BCAA and CreaPure or CREATIN X6 directly after training as PWN
For advanced or competitive athletes, I can warmly recommend our hardcore line:
- NOX (for a maximum pump)
- GLUTABOLIC (for maximum regeneration)
- CREATIN X6 (for a maximum increase in strength)

- How do you see the results of Mr. Olympia 2006 ? War Jay Cutler wirklich besser als Ronnie Coleman?
Andreas Frey:
In my opinion, Jay was like every year, no better and no worse.
Even though Ronnie wasn't in top form this year, he was worlds better than Jay!
Jay’s victory was clearly a political decision to bring a breath of fresh air to bodybuilding again.
According to the motto: "The king was overthrown, now everything is possible for everyone!"

- Who will be Mr. Olympia 2007? Do you believe in Ronnie's comeback?
Andreas Frey:
If he stays healthy, he will come back. But one should not forget that he is no longer the youngest and every year it becomes more difficult to compete against the younger ones. In any case, it won't get any better, that's for sure! At most, he can build on his best times.

- Will we see you at FIBO this April?
Andreas Frey: Yes, you will see me there. I will be there all four days!

- Thank you for the interview.
Andreas Frey:
I was happy to do nothing to thank.
