Greene Kai – Interview

BF. Hello Kai, you are training with Charles Glass. How was your first meeting with Charles?
Kai Greene:
I was very excited and came to training with my notepad and head down. But I came to California to work hard, I was ready and open to anything. I'm like a sponge that soaks up everything Charles says.

BF. Do you want to Mr. Olympia 2009 vor.
Kai Greene:
It might sound strange, but I haven't seen much of California, except for my hotel and studio. I take a nap in the parking lot in front of the studio and am fully focused on training and Charles. Charles laughs because my hotel is right on the beach and I haven't even had my feet in the water
or on the Venice Beach boardwalk.

BF. How did Charles change your training?
Kai Greene:
We train harder than I have ever trained. For one muscle group we need around 45-60 minutes, in the past it took me around 1.5 hours. I took longer breaks and trained more according to my ego (heavy weights). If a trainer stands next to you with a stopwatch and pays close attention to the correct exercise technique, the training looks completely different. We train with enormous intensity and smaller weights.

BF. Have the individual exercises also changed?
Kai Greene:
The practice speed has changed. We train much more slowly to the maximum
To use muscle contraction. Charles is the best, with him every rep has to be done perfectly,
in terms of technique and muscle tension. I am very happy to be able to train with Charles.

BF. Do you want to be even heavier and bigger on stage?
Kai Greene:
Absolutely no way. I have enough mass to compete with big colleagues.
Now I just want to improve my proportions and symmetry.

BF. Kai, will you continue to train with Charles after the 2009 Olympics?
Kai Greene:
I think that would be fantastic. I can eat more and I am stronger to maintain the intensity.
Charles is the best coach in the sport. He always wants to achieve his goal. If need be, he swells his
Customers from 4 a.m. to late at night. He not only demands a lot from his customers but above all from himself. Charles has incredible energy and he loves what he does. I bow to his knowledge and character.

Kai Greene Interview Mr. Olympia 2014

Q: How badly does Kai Green want to win after finishing 2nd twice in a row? What kind of presentation can we expect from Kai Greene?
Kai Greene:
Kai Green really, really, really wants to win.
I worked hard. I am happy to have worked with a good team that is part of my journey. We really want to win it very much.

Q: Many say is the hardest working bodybuilder is, but for me it is Kai Green. Even in the offseasson, where everyone goes to bed, Kai Green goes to the studio and does cardio.
Is it right that you started training the day after you lost last year?
Kai Greene:
Yes, that's right, we always tried to follow the training plan well, even when we were still very busy. I am very happy that I have the people who support me and are there for me behind the scenes.

Q: I think you do a lot for your fans too, you make videos for your fans and you deserve every single fan. And I've heard a lot of people say that Kai Green has the body to win but doesn't use it properly . For example if a Phil Heath Step forward, then a Kai Green steps into the shadows. Are you going to fight for the title this year, or what Kai Green will we see?
Kai Greene:
I really want to respect everyone, but that's not the point. I mean, we want to show the viewers what they paid for. We want to present ourselves as people, but also as athletes. And this weekend we're for the fans, but also to show things that I've worked for a long time.
