Interview with Kohlruss Dennis

Q: Hi Dennis. How did you get into weight training, how long have you been training?
Dennis:
In 2009, when I was doing my basic military service in the armed forces, I stumbled upon Magnus Samuelsson's YouTube videos and was immediately hooked on the strongman sport.Q: Which strongman disciplines do you like best?
Dennis:
There are many favorite disciplines of mine such as the Loglift or the Truckpull. The secret of a good strongman is to master every discipline very well.

Q: How do you train? How do you prepare for a strongman competition?
Dennis:
My workout is 3-4 days a week. From basic strength exercises like deadlifts and squats to swing presses and bench presses.
I then build in the discipline training especially for the competitions and reduce the basic exercises.

Q: Do you watch your diet? What does a strongman day look like?
Dennis:
Diet is very important to me, getting enough protein is essential, enough carbohydrates for plenty of steam.
In the morning: oatmeal, low-fat quark, egg bread
Lunch: good home cooking
In the evening, however, reduce the carbohydrates a little.
It is allowed to sin ... pizza, burgers, everything is allowed in moderation. J

Q: What would you recommend to young athletes who want to become successful strongmen?
Dennis: My tip for athletes who want to prepare for a competition is: Take your time ... don't want so much at once.
Grows like a tree slowly and strongly. Set small goals and approach the higher weights. Always stay tuned and eat your plate nicely.

Q: What are your plans for 2015?
Dennis:
My plans are as follows.
Strongest man Germany 2015, this year has shown me that I belong to the German elite and that the title is within reach.
Furthermore, I will compete in my first Champions League competition at the FIBO CLASS X. A placement in the TOP 10 is now my incentive.
