Geboren in Harlington, Texas, hat Rachel McLish Particularly historical significance for the sport of women bodybuilding. This honor is bestowed on her by winning the first United States Championships in 1980 and also taking her first Ms. Olympic title that year.
Those groundbreaking victories, along with Rachels good looks, brought another surge of media attention to women's bodybuilding started by Lisa Lyon.
In a competitive career that spanned only four years, it turned out Mc Lish as a flexible force, she won two Ms. Olympic titles (the second in 1982) and never placed below third.
In an unprecedented period of media presence was Rachel the center of intense attention; the 1985 film "Pumping Iron II: The Women" focused on her participation in the 1983 Caesars World Cup.
After finishing fourth at the Ms. Olympia in 1984, Rachel retired from competitive bodybuilding but continued to enjoy international attention while she embarked on a film career.
Even today is Rachel Mc Lish one of the most famous personalities in bodybuilding.
She currently resides in Palm Springs, California with her husband, producer Ron Samuels.
