Yates Dorian - Interview "I think intense ..."
Q. You are very successful in bodybuilding, at the same time you work as a successful businessman. What are your future plans?
Yates Dorian: I am now ready to start my new improved supplement that will be called Dorian Yates “Ultimate Formulas”. We'll be at FIBO, and I hope everyone will come over and stop by, say hello and try our product, I'm also opening my own gym, which will be called Temple Gym. We have already considered two locations in the USA and the construction project is also available for Europe.
F.Wie sieht dein typischer Tagesablauf aus? Wie oft und mit welchen Gewichten trainierst du zurzeit?
Yates Dorian: I don't have a typical daily routine. At the moment it depends on work and family obligations. It makes sense to train 3 times a week with weights and 3 times endurance training.
Q. You promoted the Heavy Duty System. If you could start your sports career all over again, would you do it again?
Yates Dorian: I believe short-term, intensive training with adequate breaks is the best way to train.
Mike Mentzer put a package together and called it Heavy Duty. I disagree with Mike's teaching
but the basic idea is good; if I had changed something, I would not have been as strong and vigorous during competitions because the risk of injury increases after a long time on a low-calorie diet.
Q. What would you recommend to our readers for their training and diet if they want to be just as successful as you are?
Yates Dorian: I would definitely read my book “Warriors story” and my DVD “Blood and guts”
(Blood and sweat) and most importantly, learning to listen to your own body.
Q. Your nutritional products are very famous in the bodybuilding scene. Are you also involved in the development of the products? Which products would you recommend?
Yates Dorian: I've just finished my new line and I'm very excited and proud of it. If I do something, it has to be for the best. I am involved in all aspects of product development. I work with my own medical team and with my manufacturing facility. Come to FIBO and try it!
Q. How do you motivate yourself for such a long time? What's your recipe for success?
Yates Dorian: It's not difficult to motivate myself because I enjoy the challenge and the way it feels…. I love it!
F. Ronie Coleman intended this year at the Mister Olympia To compete better and stronger than the years before. Do you believe in his comeback?
Yates Dorian: I don't know why Ronnie wasn't among the best last year, maybe an injury.
If he can fix it, I think he'll win this year.
If Ronie is at his best, he's better than Jay Cutler!
Q. Are you planning a comeback?
Yates Dorian: No, not a comeback for me!
Q. Will we see you at FIBO?
Yates Dorian: Yes, see you at FIBO!
