Park Reg - Profile
Born June 7, 1928
Combine John Grimek Roughness with Steve Reeves' proportions and you get a body like that of Reg Park.
Born in Leeds, England, won Reg Park the Mr. Britain in 1949, then spent six months in a row in the United States.
There he met Joe Weider, who began promoting the Englishman in his magazines.
Parks The main victories were the NABBA Amateur - Mr. Universe 1951 and the NABBA Pro Mr - Universe 1958 and 1965.
Between the latter two victories, he appeared in Hercules films filmed in Italy.
Apart from his massive body it was Reg Park known for his strength - which he often demonstrated in public appearances.
Reg Park war Arnold Schwarzeneggers Bodybuilding inspiration; the two met at the NABBA Pro Mr. Universe in 1970, where the 23-year-old Arnold made it to the 42-year-old Reg Park to beat.
Reg has lived in South Africa since the 1960s, but is still often seen at major competitions.
