Pudzianowski Mariusz - Interview "" Jeder kann ...

Interview with the strongest man in the world "Anyone can become like me."

F.Hello Mariusz on TV you see more and more strongman competitions. The competitions have ever larger audiences.
Mariusz Pudzianowski. Yes, this year DSF has decided to broadcast our competitions. Strongman this is sport where you can show whether you are really strong. The audience want to see that.

Q. How did your adventure with Strongman begin?
Mariusz Pudzianowski: In 1999 I was invited to a strongman competition. That's where I started, it worked out well and I had a lot of fun.

Q. Do you remember when you first picked up a weight?
Mariusz Pudzianowski. I started on December 7th, 1990. I will not forget this date.

Q. What made you build such a body? Were you beaten up at school and you wanted to revenge yourself?
Mariusz Pudzianowski: No, I had no problems with that. I wanted to have a goal in life and not just work, home, work, home. If you live without a goal then it's like you don't exist.

Q. How long do you train? How much KG do you move a day?
Mariusz Pudzianowski. I don't count KG with a few tons for sure.
For training, I need 3-4 hours more in preparation. Plus jogging, swimming and stretching.

Q. But in order to build a body like this, do you need special nutrition?
Mariusz Pudzianowski: No, I don't follow a diet, I just eat a little more like the others …….

Q. And you definitely can't pull a truck with quark doping?
Mariusz Pudzianowski. I hear the question very often. Only doping and doping. Do you really want to know what professional sport looks like ... then you have to become a professional athlete.

Q. Can you explain a little more about this?
Mariusz Pudzianowski. This is how I always answer questions about doping.

Q. Do you still feel the adrenaline pumping 400kg?
Mariusz Pudzianowski. Yes, I love this state.

Q. Have you heard "the bigger the arms, the emptier the head"? Do the prejudices annoy you?
Mariusz Pudzianowski. I laugh at the guys. This is what people say who have complexes of their own and will not achieve anything in their lives.

Q. Who was your idol when you were young?
Mariusz Pudzianowski: My role model was always my father, he also lifted weights and wasn't that bad at all.

F. Arnold Schwarzenegger? He's doing a political career now, do you have any ambitions there too?
Mariusz Pudzianowski. I haven't thought about that yet. Perhaps…..

Q. Tell us and our readers something about your personal life.
Mariusz Pudzianowski. I want to keep my private life to myself. I have a girlfriend in my free time, I often go to sea, I don't drink or smoke, that's all I want to say about it.

Q. What do you want a strongman?
Mariusz Pudzianowski. Few injuries and light weights.

Q. Thanks for the interview.

Pudzianowski Mariusz Interview April 2010

F.Hello Mariusz. How are you? May 7th is your second MMA fight. How do you prepare for the event?
Pudzianowski Mariusz: Thank you, I'm doing very well. I am getting better and better.
I box 3 to 4 times a week, on the other days I practice other fighting techniques.
My week is already over.

Q. Where and with whom do you train?
Pudzianowski Mariusz: I'm in Warsaw and I train with the Polish national ring team.
If I have strength and motivation, I can train there anytime.

Q. 2 MMA fights are scheduled for May. There are only 14 days between the two fights. Isn't the time too short to fully regenerate?
Pudzianowski Mariusz: I know what it means to fight 3 rounds of 5 minutes. During training, I have a different opponent every minute
and I have no problems there.
I think 14 days are enough to recover. As long as I don't hurt myself and stay healthy
I don't worry about it.

Q. The skeptics say that if you fight MMA now, you will have to give up weights and strength training. How are you doing?
Pudzianowski Mariusz: I will definitely not end my weight training adventure. This is my first love and it is known that it never rusts.
I will have to reduce my strongman competitions, instead of 20 maybe only 2-3 a year.
I also need strength training for MMA. In the heavyweight division, strength is just as important
like fitness and technique. The animal strength is my advantage.

F. One final word.
Pudzianowski Mariusz: I'm happy that I can now fulfill my childhood dreams. As a kid I always wanted to fight and now I have the opportunity.
I won't let anyone take that away from me.

Pudzianowski Mariusz - Interview “MMA und ich…>

K. Hello Mariusz, you are currently preparing for the Strongman World Championships 2009.
Do you want to win again?
Mariusz Pudzianowski: Yes, of course. I think if I don't hurt myself then that's placement
possible under the first 3. But to tell the truth: places 3 and 2 are like defeat for me.
I'm well prepared and it had to be enough for a world title.

K. I heard you'd like to switch to MMA then. Are there already firm plans there?
Mariusz Pudzianowski: Yes, I have a contract for a fight against Marcin Najman on December 12th
I'm looking forward to the fight.

K. It's a new challenge. Are you already training in this direction?
Mariusz Pudzianowski: After I achieved everything I wanted, I decided to
to try something new. For 3 months, 3 times a week I've been sitting on the mat. I already notice the first successes
you get a lot of self-confidence. After the World Championships I will prepare even more intensively.
Fight less iron more.

K. How do you train for MMA?
Mariusz Pudzianowski: I work a lot with stretching and floor techniques. With my body weight of 140 kg,
I won't have the speed of a 90 kg fighter. My advantage is my strength, if I grab hold of him once then I won't let go of him again.

K. Body-Fitness-XXL wishes you good luck at the Strongman World Championships 2009. We will of course report whether Mariusz Pudzianowski has won his 6 World Championship titles.
Mariusz Pudzianowski: Thanks for the interview.

Pudzianowski interview after the 2nd MMA fight

Q. Hello Mariusz what do you think of the fight?
Mariusz Pudzianowski:
I thought the fight won't last 2-3 minutes. The condition problems were seen in the 2nd round.

Q. Yes, the 2nd round was very difficult, what motivated you not to give up?
Mariusz Pudzianowski:
I heard the fans in the background. They shouted “Pudzian go”, that's the best motivation.

Q. In 2 weeks you will fight Tim Silva in the US, what is your prognosis?
Mariusz Pudzianowski:
Silva is two-time world champion of the UFC, it will be difficult but I will fight to the end.
I promised my fans a world championship title, and I'll do anything for that.

In our portal www.Bodybuilding-XXL.de we will of course report live about the next fight.

Pudzianowski vs Sylvia MMA Kampf

Mariusz Pudzianowski prepares for the fight against Tim Sylvia, which will take place on May 21st in Worcester (USA).

Pudzianowski said "if Sylvia wants to win he has to knock me out, as long as I can stand I'll fight".
Tim Sylvia responded with a short "OK I'll do".
Pudzianowski replied to the tactics: “I will exploit his weak points. I don't have that much experience in MMA, but I've never given up. I can do everything I set out to do, no matter how difficult it is. Before the fight, I never think I've already won. The fight with Sylvia will be no exception. But this time we won't need a referee.
Pudzianowski's threats made no impression on Tim Sylvia. “I saw his last fight. He still has a lot of work to do. If Pudzianowski fights as he did against Kawaguschi, the fight won't last long. And it will come to an end with a knockout. "
Tim Sylvia, the two-time UFC world champion who weighs 130 kg, says: I'm ready for this fight!

Pudzianowski vs Butterbean - Interview mit Pudzian

Q: Hi Mariusz, after the last fight in the USA you promised the fans that you would come back. New and better prepared. What has changed?

Mariusz Pudzianowski: A lot has changed. In my last fight I weighed 138 kg, now I weigh about 118 kg. I am smaller but faster and mine Condition is much better.

Q: Condition was your weakness. How did you prepare now?
Mariusz Pudzianowski: I trained with heavy weights for over 20 years and didn't pay much attention to endurance. For 1 year now I have completely changed my training. For 3 months I have only been training endurance. After my last fight with de Silvia, I realized what I had to work on and started immediately.

Q. Does that mean you are well prepared now?
Mariusz Pudzianowski: I am prepared for a 3-round fight. I don't need to think about whether my condition is sufficient for 6 minutes.

Q: What can you surprise Mariusz Pudzianowski with now?
Mariusz Pudzianowski: I think my coach and I did a good job.
I am prepared for anything. I work with a very experienced team of trainers.
They have been working with MMA and K-1 fighters for years.

Q: Your next opponent KSW 14 is former heavyweight boxer Eric "Butterbeana" Esch. He has won most of his fights by knockout. What are your tactics for the fight?
Mariusz Pudzianowski: I'll have to be very careful in short distances. I am also able to knock over and hold the 180 kg that the butterbean weighs. I'm going to surprise you all very much, that's what I've worked for.
Q: Mariusz you say you have replaced your weight training with conditioning training.
But I see a toned mountain of muscles. How you do that?
Mariusz Pudzianowski: I still train with weights, just a lot lighter and with 20-30 repetitions. I do 10 exercises and do 3 to 4 rounds.
The weights have become lighter. I used to deadlift 400 pounds now it's only 300 pounds. I think it's not bad either.

Q: Now a few words for your opponent "Butterbeana".
Mariusz Pudzianowski: "Butterbean" you said Pudzianowski beats like a woman.
Come to Poland then I'll show you how women beat us.

Pudzianowski vs Butterbean - Butterbean.

Q: Hello Eric, on September 18th you are fighting Mariusz Pudzianowski. What do you say about your opponent?

Eric "Butterbean" Esch: I've seen his 3 MMA fights. I have to say there is still a lot of work waiting for him.

Q: How would you like to win against Mariusz? What are your strengths?
Eric “Butterbean” Esch: I'm very good at standing. I'll try to win the fight standing up. Of course by knockout.

Q: So how should a boxer be?
Eric "Butterbean" Esch: I will do the same.

Q: You are preparing for the fight on the American Top Team. Who are your trainers
Eric "Butterbean" Esch: I work with 2 of my sons, they are very strong and real fighters.

Q: The KSW Gala on September 19th will be held in Poland. The audience will be very supportive of Mariusz Pudzianowski, won't that be depressing for you?
Eric "Butterbean" Esch: I think I have a lot of fans and friends all over the world.
Don't be surprised if they all support me. I will show the audience that Pudzianowski fights like a woman.

Q: Thank you, we wish you all the best for the fight.
Eric “Butterbean” Esch: Thank you and we'll see you in Poland.

Pudzianowski & Butterbean – Interview

Mariusz Pudzianowski fights against Erich "Butterbean" Esch on September 18.

Pudzianowski has lost 20 kg and his form is better than in the fight with de Sylvia.

Q. How do you prepare to fight butterbean?
Mariusz Pudzianowski: I started my preparation on June 3rd.
I work with the best for stamina, endurance and speed.
These are professionals who know what they are doing and, above all, what I am missing.

Q. During the fight with de Silvia, was your physical condition a weak point, what has changed?
Mariusz Pudzianowski: I'm very well prepared. I spent the first 3 weeks on the ergometer. Then there was running.
And the whole thing took about 10 weeks. A year ago, I wanted to run a lap, and after about a kilometer, I needed an oxygen tent.
Now I run 10 kilometers and more without any problems.

Q. What are your tactics for fighting "Butterbean"?
Mariusz Pudzianowski: I'm fighting a boxer, I'll take great care of his hands. I will try to get him to the ground quickly, there I will continue to work on him. "Butterbean" weighs 180 kg, it will be heavy, but I like the challenge.

Q. "Butterbean" said "... Pudzianowski hits like a little girl ..." did that motivate you to fight?
Mariusz Pudzianowski: I suggested that we discuss it like two men.
Now we'll meet in the ring and I'll show him how Pudzianowski beats.

F. The battle on September 18th is also called "Decision Day".
Have you thought about what if you should lose it?
Mariusz Pudzianowski: No, I haven't thought about that yet. I've worked hard, you don't think about defeat.
I get in the ring not to lose. I just think about victory.

Q. We read in the media that your next opponent would be Hong-man Choi.
Have you already set an appointment?
Mariusz Pudzianowski: I don't want to talk about that, I'll concentrate on September 18, then we can continue planning.

Wir bei www.Bodybuilding-XXL.de berichten natürlich live am 18 September, über den Kampf Pudzianowski & Esch.

Pudzianowski - Interview “I'm better at 130 ..

Mariusz Pudzianowski 6-time Strongman World Champion will contest his next fight in MMA on May 21 in Gdansk.
His opponent is the English colossus James Thompson.
In the interview, Mariusz Pudzianowski talks about his preparation, the opponent and the future plans.Question: Your opponent James Thomson is called "Colossus" in England.
What do you think of him

Mariusz Pudzianowski: Of course I analyzed his fights, he is very strong and unpredictable. He is relatively safe standing and in partere, but he has lost his last fights. It's hard to judge him, I'm prepared for anything.

Question: How do you train before the fight?
Mariusz Pudzianowski:
My preparation started right after the fight with Butterbeam. I'm still far from the best in MMA. Most have been training for 15 years. I did weight training for 22 years, 12 of which as a professional.
I still have a lot to catch up on. My training has changed drastically, I used to lift 300 kg and more, now I work more on my technique and condition.

Question: Do you particularly prepare for your opponent?
Mariusz Pudzianowski:
I didn't know where I started training who I was going to fight. I always train very hard. My coaches always send me home so I don't do too much. So far I have practiced Jiu-Jitsu, Boks and wrestling.
Now 6 weeks before the fight, I am preparing for Thompson.

Question: So far, perseverance has been your biggest problem. Has anything changed?
Mariusz Pudzianowski:
I am good at training. I am ready to fight 2 times 5 minutes and 3 minutes of extra time.

Question: You weighed 113 kg against Butterbeam. What is your body weight now
Mariusz Pudzianowski:
I currently weigh 130 kg. That's my normal body weight and it makes me feel better than I do at 113 kg. I don't think I'll be much easier in the ring against Thompson. My 130 kg give me the security I need in the ring.

Question: The professionals say that you have come a long way.
Which fighter is Mariusz Pudzianowski now?
Mariusz Pudzianowski:
The fight against Thompson will tell if I'm on the right track. I just want to say Thompson; Boy work hard, I won't sell my skin cheap
