He was inspired by the 1989 film Conan the Barbarian with Arnold Schwarzenegger and started training with a body weight of 65 kg.
At the Hessian championship in 1994, his first competition, he finished last.
A year later he won the NABBA German Championship and came third in the NABBA Mr. Universe Championship.
Then decided Ronny to become a professional bodybuilder.
He finally did this by winning the International German Championship in 2002 and the associated Procard. Rockel lives in Ulm.
