We all know the events of the Arnold Sports Festival (including the Arnold Classic) and the Joe Weider Fitness and Sports Weekend (including the Mr. Olympia). And it's not often that a new top event competes with them. In fact, it is unprecedented. But Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and media and fitness impresario Dany Garcia are shaking the world of fitness festivals with a new event, Athleticon, which debuts in Atlanta October 9-11, 2020.
Given their pedigree on the Hollywood A-list, it might not be surprising that Johnson and Garcia are trying to re-energize fitness weekends that focus on body competitions with an increased focus on entertainment, including musical performances, movie premieres, food, and even comedy to lend. The weekend also promises inclusiveness, including sporting and wellness aspects, not just aesthetic competitions.
There is something for everybody. The broad approach reflects the individual's expanded areas of interest. Nowadays, an active person is just as likely to be between Weight training, yoga und To run to switch, as for an individual athlete.
Athleticon has the potential to be a huge new event and a chance for active people of all kinds to bond through common ground - and it looks like it's going to be a lot of fun.
